The Drupal Common Framework (CFW)
The Common Framework (CFW) is a homegrown web-building tool that uses the Drupal content management system to power nine of our college websites, in addition to maricopa.edu—creating a cohesive user experience for navigation, search, menus, programs, degrees and certificates, and more.
We are on the third major release of this tool. There are several 'flavors' of the framework: the 'college' version, adding many student-specific tools (clubs, awards, programs, fields of interest); the department version (DFW), focusing on more specialized content; and the department public/private version (DFW-P) allowing for fully user authentication (using Azure AD) to create content that is public (anonymous users) and private (only authenticated users) on the same website.
